The Family
Gale Bailey as "Mommy"
Primarily a filmmaker, "Goddess Years" marks her acting debut. Gale co-produced the independent feature "The Last Big Thing" distributed by Stratosphere Entertainment. She also wrote, produced and directed the short film "You, Me & the DMV" which aired on PBS in July, 1998. Her company is developing a self-discovery television series.
Peter Quartaroli as "Daddy"
In addition to several commercials and industrials, Peter has been featured in many films including ULTIMATE REALITY, 'TIL DEATH DO US PART, WOMAN IN RED and upcoming TWO GOLDSTEINS ON ACID; TV movies such as RUBY RIDGE and RED SHOE DIARIES, TV series such as "Midnight Caller" and "Nash Bridges" where he recently guest-starred as "Cyanide Man". Peter is also interested in producing feature films.
Nathan Aaron Place as "Sonny"
Nathan has appeared in 10 films besides GODDESS YEARS including INVANITY, EARTH ANGEL and PURPLE RAIN. He has also done a great deal of theater - touring with "A Hole In The World" and "Full Shackle", and locally working with Oakland Ensemble Theatre, George Coates Performance Works, Theatre Rhinoceros and Guthrie Theatre. He is also a visual artist.
The Lads
Richard Benn as "The Connoisseur"
GODDESS YEARS marked Richard's first appearance in film. He has since appeared in the feature drama ROSIE and starred in the short magical drama DUST. He has also appeared on "Nash Bridges" and on stage in local productions of "Another Part of the Forest" & "Frankenstein" among others. He has also directed 3 children's plays for Hillside Drama Players.
Benton Greene as "The Lad About Town"
Benton attended the 1999 Sundance Festival with SHE SMOKES in which he had a starring role. Other films include SHE'S VINTAGE and CAFÉ ROCCO . He's performed in stage plays such as "The Lower Depths" for Diaspora Theatre and "Balm In Gilead" for Encore Theatre and has appeared with the SF Mime Troupe and Theatre Rhubarb. TV roles include an appearance on "Nash Bridges" and numerous commercials. Benton is a model for Look Model Agency, and is preparing to produce his first short film.
Samuel Sheng as "The Pseudo-Intellectual"
Sam has been featured in motion pictures including PATCH ADAMS and the TV series "Nash Bridges", theater including award winners "Sex, Murder, and Mayhem Never Looked This Good", "Along For the Ride" and stage & musical productions too numerous to list for theater groups such as Theatreworks, SF Fringe Festival, Magic Theatre, and the Asian American Theatre Company.
Key Crew Bios
Jeff Piccinini - Director of Photography / Editor
Though he originally pursued an education in medicine, rock and roll prevailed and Jeff's early career was spent playing in one of the legendary early British punk rock bands, Chelsea. At the end of a music career spanning more than a decade he made the switch to production and has been working in film and video in the Bay Area community ever since. One of his early projects was a documentary about wild horses, which he produced, shot and edited himself.
He and Laurie have collaborated on several projects, including a music video for punk rock recording artist Mad Parade, directed and filmed by Jeff, and broadcast on MTV2.
His recent projects include performing as Director of Photography for an indie digital feature called CHOOSE JOY, and conceiving, directing and shooting a broadcast travel program entitled "Cruisin' Your Town" with his own Flavors Media Group which was primarily engaged in broadcast programming.
He has been a DV cameraman on programs for the History Channel and Home & Garden Network. Other projects include commercials and promotional videos for a ballet company, Kodak cameras, Sun Microsystems, and a multi-camera shoot of a Celtic music concert at the 4th Annual O'Reilly's Oyster & Beer Festival 2003.

A self-taught child prodigy who grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, Allan has an extensive command of every group of musical instruments and a respect and understanding for different cultures and their musical traditions. During his 20 years in the music profession, he has earned a solid reputation and numerous awards as a performer, composer and producer in high demand by artists such as Sergio Mendez, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Rogers, Tito Puente and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has previously scored 2 independent feature films, "The Break of Dawn" and "Love Always".
Production Sound Mixer: Conrad Slater
Renowned as one of the best soundmen in San Francisco, Conrad brought 20 years of expertise to the project. He is in demand for work on motion pictures such as "Mrs. Doubtfire", "Nine Months", "Raising Cain", network TV such as "Nash Bridges" and "Beverly Hills 90210", commercial, documentary, industrial and live productions.
Co-Story Writer/Production Designer - Wardrobe/Stylist: Danny O'Neill
Collaborating on the "Goddess Years" story made Danny determined to expose 'young man's disease' to a wide audience. The production provided his first opportunity to demonstrate considerable styling talent. He went on to art direct several videos and was signed by Artist Untied - the top stylist agency in SF. Danny now regularly works with top stylists on national advertising and art photography projects.
Production Designer - Set Decoration/Props: Alex Robinson
Freelance Production Assistant / Stage Manager for PVR with photography and independent filmmaking experience. As the regular PA for PVR location and stage video productions Alex previously worked closely with Laurie, Jeff Piccinini and Jim Pusch on numerous productions.
Script Supervisor/Continuity: Chryss Terry
Chryss completed a color 16mm film entitled "Supplication" at SF State. As a professional script supervisor her movie credits include "Lick the Star" by Sophia Coppola and the new feature by Lynn Hershman, "Conceiving Ada".
Hair/Make-up: Jennifer Portley
Magazine, calendar, advertising experience such as Bausch and Lomb, Gold's Gym Body Wear, Bella Mia and Landmark Greeting Cards, plus several commercials and videos. The large cast in "Goddess Years" presented a challenge, which she handled cheerfully and quite professionally.
